New 20 Classroom two storey national school building and all associated site development works with single storey 6 classrooms special needs unit.
The design was hugely impacted by the very limited available site space. The two storey 20 classroom block was erected to the back of the old school. The new classrooms have internal courtyards allowing for rapid cross ventilation of the classrooms and corridors. The courtyards also reduce the need for the artificial light in the adjacent accommodation creating high quality education spaces.
The single storey 6 classrooms SNU was constructed in place of the old school. To guide people to the main entrance of the 2 storey building, the SNU received a curved brick wall. The wall is finished with yellow clay and yellow glazed bricks creating patterns showing scenes from school life.
