Hebron Hotel Kilkenny: Kenny Lyons and Associates spearheaded the architectural design and planning approval process for a comprehensive hotel, leisure, and conference complex in Kilkenny, Co. Kilkenny. This ambitious project included the meticulous refurbishment and repurposing of Hebron House, into a hotel & landscaped parkland, complete with meeting rooms and offices. The focal point of the design was the integration of a modern hotel extension seamlessly with the historic fabric of Hebron House (a derelict detached five-bay two storey residence built in the late 1700s), resulting in a cohesive two and three-story structure boasting 136 bedrooms, reception area, restaurant, bars, kitchen, staff room, meeting rooms, and conference centre. The lower ground floor is dedicated to leisure amenities such as a swimming pool & fitness suite. The project extended beyond the building's confines, encompassing the development of hotel parkland and the creation of an access road from the N10 roundabout into Blanchfieldsland. The landscape redesign was a significant aspect, featuring the revitalization of the existing walled garden, development of parkland along the Pococke River, and integration of footpaths, cycleways, and parking facilities. The project's location at Hebron Road/N10, Blanchfieldsland, strategically positioned it for future developments on the Business Park zoned lands. KLA would like to thank all stakeholders and design team consultants Bowe Consulting Engineers, Parkhood Landscape Architects, WSP Natural Environment & Ecology, Doran Tree Services, NRB Consulting Engineers, Shanarc Archaeology and Dr Jason Bolton for their services to assist planning approval for this regeneration project.
