New 5 Classroom Extension to
Clonaslee N.S., Clonaslee, Co. Laois

The extension to Clonaslee National School is designed on a linear plan with five new classrooms and a GP room. A new glazed entrance foyer was created to the side of the original school to address the new vehicular access to the school. Clonaslee is renowned for the local attractive sandstone and the service blocks are clad in clonaslee dry stone walling. The three south facing classrooms also have enclosed external patios/external classrooms spaces. A curved undulating clonaslee stone wall was designed as a welcoming arm from the car park to the school entrance, and to create a backdrop to the activities of the school.

The project was completed in 2007 at a cost of €1,850,000
